Friday 8/28/2009: Job Interview Skills

If you are interested, please sign up at the library by emailing Charles (please note, you will need to remove the <at> and replace with the @ as well as the <dot> with a period) Also, the VEC instructor has requested that all participants register with the VEC website. Space is limited, so be sure to call us for your spot, and if you have a laptop, please bring it with you.

So, we have finished the Marshall Bullock Summer Reading Program for children. We have finished almost all of the teen summer reading program — just the genre reading competition is still going on until August 21. That leaves us the entire month of August for our first ever Adult Summer Reading program!

So, what are we doing for adults? I’m so glad you asked! Back by popular demand, we are offering computer classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays. They will be held at 2:00 in the afternoon and then repeated at 6:30 in the evening. This week, we will be learning computer basics — what’s the difference between RAM and ROM, what’s a motherboard and how it all works together. We will also begin our internet workshops by helping you register for an email and IM account, learn basic “Netiquette” and send messages to other people in the class.

Additionally, we will have a new book discussion group and an adult bingo game, but those are blog posts for another day!
