So, we have finished the Marshall Bullock Summer Reading Program for children. We have finished almost all of the teen summer reading program — just the genre reading competition is still going on until August 21. That leaves us the entire month of August for our first ever Adult Summer Reading program!
So, what are we doing for adults? I’m so glad you asked! Back by popular demand, we are offering computer classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays. They will be held at 2:00 in the afternoon and then repeated at 6:30 in the evening. This week, we will be learning computer basics — what’s the difference between RAM and ROM, what’s a motherboard and how it all works together. We will also begin our internet workshops by helping you register for an email and IM account, learn basic “Netiquette” and send messages to other people in the class.
Additionally, we will have a new book discussion group and an adult bingo game, but those are blog posts for another day!

When will all of this start for the alult and for the computer part do we need to be in class or on the computer.
We will be doing another set beginning next month, with a tentative start date on Wednesday, September 23. We will go a little slower than we did this month, beginning with Basic Computers and ending with a Christmas letter by the beginning of December. We will also host another set of workshops for intermediate level users on specific web applications, like blogs and Facebook, and other such things.
The classes take place in the library, and if you have a laptop, we encourage you to bring it. We have four (and sometimes five) mini-laptops available for patrons to use during the classes. They ARE hands on!
