Library Trustee Meeting

The Library Board of Trustees will meet and discuss library and board matters. Most meeting are open to the public, while some are closed meetings or votes. Meetings occur every other month on the third Tuesday.

Chess Club

Join the Chess Club! All ages and skill ranges are welcome. Come practice your moves or learn the basics. Various boards are always available. Snacks are sometimes provided, so if you have an allergy, please let the library know in advance.

Indigenous Studies Group

All are welcome to join the Indigenous Studies Group each week for meaningful discussion on the heritage and culture surrounding Indigenous peoples of the United States and beyond. Sometimes the group hosts presenters for further studying and research. Tea is provided. This group started as the Book Club, and in 2024 rebranded and changed direction due to collective participant interest.

After School Meal Program

The Library will offer free cold meals for students. Meals will include a vegetable, fruit, carbohydrate, and dairy. These meals are administered by the USDA and the Amelia County Public Schools. Draw Out Your “Matter”

Join us and graphic novel author, Laura Lee Gulledge, for a creative teen workshop called Draw Out Your “Matter,” a word and art exercise for dealing with your inner critic, expressing your self, and beginning journaling. Pokemon Play

Storytime with Sophia the READ Dog

Join us and Sophia the READ-trained dog for a special monthly storytime! Carol Smith will read a story book, followed by a craft or an activity. These storytimes are suggested for children 2-5 years old. *Please note! May's storytime will take place on Tuesday, May 21, instead of the 4th Tuesday.
