The Friends of the James L. Hamner Public Library are a 501(c)3 organization that accepts donations on behalf of the James L. Hamner Public Library and asks that donors consider remembering the library in their wills.

The Friendly Bookshop

Buy books at great prices ($1 for hardcover, and 25 cents for paperbacks) to support the Friends of the Library, or donate your gently used books here for resale.

     Hours: Saturday, 10:00am-1:00pm

Donate Books

The Hamner Public Library cannot accept donations directly, but donated books can be brought to the Friendly Bookstore.

The Friends cannot accept donations that are:
- Ripped, mildewed, or too damaged
- Encyclopedias, dictionaries, hymnals, and Bibles
- Large quantities of magazines or DVDs

Paperback books can be recycled. Hardback books can be recycled if the cover is removed.

If you would like to become a member, the tiers are listed below. You can pay at the Library or mail a check to PO Box 170, Amelia Court House, VA 23002.

Memorial Leaves and Bricks

The Friends of the Hamner Public Library are encouraging library patrons and friends to contribute to the library through donations and memorial contributions. Donors and memorials will be acknowledged on our Tree of Life in the library foyer.

Please fill out a Tree of Life Memorial Leaves form or a Tree of Life Memorial Leaves form and return to the Hamner Public Library or the Friendly Bookstore. Copies of the forms are also available at the library.
