Library Mission

The mission of the James L. Hamner Public Library is to facilitate connections that provide free learning opportunities to Amelia County.

Library History

The James L. Hamner Public Library attained its charter in 1973. The current building opened in 1999. The library was named for Dr. James Loving Hamner, a deceased physician who worked in Amelia County.
