Join the Marshall Bullock Summer Reading Program
at the James L. Hamner Public Library!

What is the Summer Reading Program?
June and July will be filled with awesome library programs and a Summer Reading Challenge to keep everyone having fun and brains staying active. Each year has a new theme, and this year's theme is "Adventure Begins at Your Library." So, let's start the adventure!

What is the Summer Reading Challenge?
The challenge is to read and complete certain activities and earn prizes along the way. Every age can join, from adults to the tiniest of babies! (Disclaimer: the tiniest of babies will need assistance from adults, but we do have prizes for infants and toddlers.)

How do I join the challenge?
Visit the Hamner Public Library between May 14 and the end of June to receive a registration goody bag, which includes a Summer Reading Passport and stamper to keep track of the reading and activity goals. The challenge runs June-July.
If you can't come to the Library, that's okay! You can use Beanstack to track your progress. Download the Beanstack App on your iPhone or Android, or sign up on your web browser using this website: https://hamnerlibrary.beanstack.com/

Are there certain books I have to read for the challenge?
Nope, you can read any book or listen to any audiobook that you like! There is a list of recommended adventure-themed books and audiobooks on our catalog and on Beanstack, but it is not a requirement to read them.

Below are the full lists of programs, categorized by age. Some programs overlap each category. If you're having trouble seeing the list, scroll down a little and it should appear. Big thank you to the Friends of the James L. Hamner Public Library who sponsor all of the Summer Reading Programs!
