Starting August 3: Closed Monday, Open Tuesday - Saturday
Our Marshall Bullock Summer Reading Program is online this year, but we still have educational and entertaining performances lined up, as well as reading suggestions. Scroll down to learn to more.
Marsha will sing and play the guitar as she encourages participants to sing and dance to original kindie music about science and how the world works.
Groovy Nate uses music and puppets to present a comedy variety show created especially for the 2020 Marshall Bullock Summer Reading Program.
The Science of Shadow Puppets, Poetry-writing, and Shadow Puppet Creation workshops features a fun mix of shadow skits, artist guidance, and simple at-home activities presented in brief, readily accessible videos that children can easily navigate.
These workshops are appropriate for children aged 7-11, but may also be enjoyed by younger children who are assisted by an adult.
Approximately 30 minutes per workshop

The Marshall Bullock Summer Reading Program is supported by the Friends of the James L. Hamner Public Library.
Each week during the summer, the Animal Shelter will feature an animal in need of adoption or fostering (unless they have no animal in need). They will name the animal based on the month's literary theme provided by the library. The library will pick a book based on the animal's name or personality. The animal will be featured on the library and animal shelter's Facebook pages.
