Shake Up Your Valentine’s Day Gifts

Make personalized Valentine’s Day gifts for your loved ones! Crafts include salt & pepper shaker couple, decorated cup with candy, and a heart-shaped wreath. Materials will be provided for the first 10 participants to arrive, and everyone after is welcome to stay to learn. Most materials can be found at a dollar store. The workshop will be led by Wendy Audley, a Friends of the Library member and volunteer.

Make an Amelia Themed Tote Bag

Studio Two Three, an art education non-profit based out of Richmond, will show participants how to print an Amelia County map design onto a tote bag that can be taken home. Materials will be provided for the first 20 participants to arrive.

Botanical Watercolor Painting Workshop

Learn how to paint a botanical pattern with watercolors on canvas with local artist and teacher, Michele Hayghe. Materials will be provided for the first 10 participants, and everyone after is welcome to stay to learn. This program is in conjuction with the state library’s Cultivating History traveing display, which will be available for viewing in the library from January 3 – April 15.

AI: What Is It and How to Use It

Dana Knott of Longwood University will give a presentation explaining what artificial intelligence (or AI) is, how one can use it, and what the future may look like with the emergence of this new technology. Whether you’re tech savvy or not, this presentation will be useful. Questions are encouraged!
